Farming Preschool Would Teach Children How To Grow Their Own Food

Here’s a great idea for a preschool/kindergarten which would teach children how to grow their own food. I think this is a phenomenal idea for building a foundation of sustainable living for future generations. Right now we’re too dependent upon the food system we live in now. It’s not practical, it’s unhealthy and most importantly and perhaps most dangerously shortsighted, it’s unsustainable. Here’s a great idea that needs to catch on here in the USA.

We all need to really take a long hard look at our future food supply and how that food is delivered to the table. Teaching our kids the skills they need to grow their own food will make them live more sustainable and ultimately healthier lives.

This is a great idea! I do believe that our food system is unreialiable. It would need nice to teach my child how to grow his own food since we all know that eventually that’s how we will have to survive. Great idea!

that’s a great idea that, i remember reading a magazine going on about how our children are missing out on outdoor activities including farming, and i now know a good number of schools that has cut off the agriculture in their curriculum, and i think talking about it is everywhere, but doing it its somewhere…i have thought for seven years, i took my kindergarten to class three by then they where bringing me some food they grow home ! we had so much fun in the permaculture lesson, we even took it to their home gardens and showing some parents too, thats was all in South Africa, now am in Yorkshire i went to couple of schools in Manchester just to talk about the importance of growing food and now we taking that away from children’ our mind set effect our children. I have had the sad story’ apparently this child see the cucumber on his visit to the Aqua-garden, he was scratching this cucumber looking for a plastic cover ! he never see cucumber without the plastic cover ! well’ that is sad.
